Enjoyed a lie in and had an impressive breakfast at the same time as a coach party. They were mostly retired women who spent most of the time spooning absolutely gigantic portions of food onto their plates so they could barely return to their table without some of it dropping off onto the floor. They crowded round the self service area, mantling the food and tasting it from the bowls with their fingers. They would then leave half the food and return with a different plate to try something else. We flirted at the edges, making the occasional dart where gaps were carelessly left and slowly managed to enjoy a very nicely prepared breakfast. Two ladies sat at our table and talked over our shoulders to their friends on the next table whilst spitting food out of mouths full of food. They were not from South America....or the UK though. Spent the day booking a bus to Rio Gallegos where we hoped to get a connection to Esquel (and ride north through the southern half of the Lake District missed after John’s accident), washing clothes and shopping. Enjoyed another great meal at Rincon Tata and felt a bit sad to be leaving Puerto Natales despite the weather. We needed to leave the hotel at 6.30 the following morning so we asked the receptionist if we could pay that evening and what time breakfast started. She replied with a definite ‘No’ and surprisingly said 5.30 am for breakfast. Had an early night!
