Month 2

It takes so long to organise things!  Weekly jabs over this month has meant a 7 day trip (coast to coast and back)  was not possible.....horrible weather made us feel slightly less frustrated.

Made do with day trips where we had the opportunity to try out our full set of stylish waterproofs!!

The hills felt a lot easier without the panniers.

A rare sunny day.

Managed a 2 day trip camping in Settle and tried to pack the panniers with all the items we might take. Had the usual nervous start hurtling down the hills clutching at the brakes!

The only signs of life we saw were sheep chasing a farmer. He looked petrified!

Busy camp site in Langcliffe and Down Silverdale into Halton Gill the following morning.

Coffee at the School house at Hebden with a few other cyclists. Then onto the Craven Arms in

Appletreewick.

Tried out our new breathable BIVI bags and discovered that John's is breathable....but mine left my sleeping bag coated in water! Do I really perspire that much water in a night?

South America is rarely in the news but even John Cravens Newsround had footage of  Argentine politicians fighting and hurling chairs in parliament.....apparently in opposition to a new chairman!
We have booked a nice looking B&B in south Buenos Aires and a man called Buddha should be waiting for us at the airport and will hopefully drive us to the house.

This is an El Nino year and with all that warm water piled up in the eastern Pacific the rain this year will no doubt be a lot heavier on the western side of the Andes....and the winds stronger in Patagonia. Today's headlines from the South Atlantic News Agency talk of a 30% increase in rainfall in Chile.
